Victoria conference brings women business owners together to focus on profitability, financial clarity, and sustainable business growth.

ESQUIMALT, BC, November 3, 2026 – The inaugural Profitable on Purpose Conference brought 82 attendees together at Esquimalt Gorge Park Pavilion on October 23, marking a successful debut for a business education experience designed to help women business owners make more informed, profitable decisions.

Created by Vancouver Island entrepreneur and business strategist Pam Ivey, the conference challenged a familiar measure of business success: revenue growth without sufficient attention to what business owners earn, retain, and take home.

Rather than following a traditional conference format, Profitable on Purpose combined expert-led workshops, practical financial discussions, peer connections, and guided exercises designed to turn business insights into specific decisions and action.

Early attendee feedback reinforced the value of the approach. Among 24 post-event survey respondents, 88% rated the experience very or extremely valuable, while 96% reported making a new business connection and 96% intended to take action following the conference.

“Business owners spend so much time working to grow their businesses, but growth doesn’t automatically translate into greater profitability,” said Ivey. “I wanted to create an experience where women had the time, guidance, and space to examine their businesses, challenge assumptions, and leave with a clearer understanding of what needs to change.”

The conference featured business educators and industry professionals addressing pricing, profitability, financial decision-making, and business sustainability. Participants worked through real business challenges using a dedicated implementation workbook and participated in facilitated conversations with fellow entrepreneurs.

The inaugural event attracted support from several established organizations, including presenting partner Scotiabank Women Initiative, Horne Coupar LLP, Acera Insurance, Doane Grant Thornton LLP, and WeBC.

Unlike conventional one-day conferences, Profitable on Purpose extends beyond the event. Participants received access to four pre-conference Business Briefings and a three-month post-conference implementation series designed to help turn decisions into measurable progress.

Following the Victoria debut, plans are underway to bring Profitable on Purpose to Vancouver in 2027, extending the conference’s reach to a broader community of established business owners.

“October 23 demonstrated the appetite for business conversations focused on profitability rather than revenue alone,” said Ivey. “The next chapter is about building on what worked and giving more business owners access to this kind of practical support.”
